GREENBELT
- Largely undeveloped and sparsely occupied land that has been set
aside in order to contain development, to prevent towns merging and to
provide open space. Greenbelt boundaries can change in response to the
requirements for additional housing.
GREENFIELD
- Land that has not previously been developed. It includes forestry,
agricultural land and associated buildings that have blended into the
natural landscape.
BROWNFIELD
- Common term for land that has previously been developed. Land that
is, or was, occupied by a permanent structure, which is now disused. |
